Prerequisites

The MS Excel Connector is available for free trial at the Download section

Step 1: Halo Extension

Install Halo Extension at least Version 1.4.3 or SMW+ Version 1.4.3

Step 2: MS Excel

Install Microsoft Excel 2003 or higher

Step 3: NET Framework

Download and install NET Framework 3.5 or higher:

Step 4: Visual Studio Tools

Download and install Visual Studio Tools for Office 2005

Step 5: Redistributable Primary Interop Assemblies

How to install the MS Excel Bridge

1. Unpack the zipped file to a path of your choice.

2. Go to this path and open the setup-file.

3. Follow the instructions of the installer.

Getting started

After the successful installation, start MS Excel. Now, you will see a new Button in the toolbar:

1. Click on this button to run the application the first time. The First Run-Window appears:

2. Choose your default folder path. There will be all queries saved.

3. Specify your default Wiki URL for your query requests. You can use both online and local Wiki URL.

Troubleshooting

If nothing happens after clicking on the Button in MS Excel but the Excel Bridge was installed before, then try the following:

1. Deinstall the Excel Bridge

2. Remove the folder "C:\Documents and settings\Username\Local Settings\Applicationdata\Microsoft_Corporation\MSExcelBridge.dll.manifes_Url_bpnxo" or similar, depending on your Windows version.

3. Reinstall the Excel Bridge.
